Mikayla Almandoz

Hi! I am Mikayla Almandoz an up and coming actor born and raised in the beautiful islands of Trinidad and Tobago. My first introduction to performing was through dance. I began by doing Modern, Ballet and Indian Dance. It wasn't until secondary school when I got a taste for theatre (even though my family would be happy to tell you I always had a taste for the dramatic) when I was in the ensemble of 'Once on this Island'. After that I knew this is what I wanted to do so I somehow was able to convince my parents to let me attend Walnut Hill School for the Arts, an Arts boarding school in the US, for the last two years of secondary school. There I studied Theatre Arts and was in the ensemble of 'West Side Story' and 'Chicago'. 
Currently, I am studying for my BA (Hons) Acting Degree at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA) where I have performed in The Balcony multi-roling as a member of the ensemble, Sir Toby Belch in Twelfth Night and a Gecko ensemble member in an Invented Work Part 1: The Show. 

I have just finished my first show of my 3rd year as Angel Gabriel in Tony Harrison's The Nativity.

Next I will be beginning rehearsals for A Horny Laertes where I will be playing Rebecca.
